Burrow House Neighborhood Guide: Back Bay, Boston

We just opened our second Burrow House location, in Boston at 286 Newbury Street. It’s right in the middle of the Back Bay, a historic neighborhood chock full of beautiful old buildings and interesting places to shop, eat, or just take a stroll. But since furniture shopping is a bit more of an event than your average trip to the mall, we had our local team put together a quick itinerary for before, during, and after your shop.

Where to get a coffee beforehand

Pavement Coffeehouse: Right downstairs from Burrow House just happens to be one of the better coffee shops in all of Boston. Pop into Pavement and get caffeinated before you come up.

Where to get lunch and mull it over

Joe’s on Newbury: The Back Bay is known more for incredible shopping than great eats, but Joe’s has been a Newbury Street staple for decades, where you can always sit at the bar for a burger, lobster roll, or snacks from the raw bar.

Where to celebrate with a cocktail afterward

Oak Long Bar and Kitchen: Treat yourself to a fancy cocktail in the swanky Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. This space used to be called the Oak Room, and it was a very stuffy affair, but it's been renovated and reimagined to focus on craft cocktails and small bites.
